The BAKERS PROJECT was the code name for a group of brave and talented women, recruited by a special unit of the United Kingdom military to assist in finding the source of military “leaks” in the United States military during the Cold War.
As the records have recently been declassified by both the British, American and other countries allied with this effort, this website is an outreach to the women involved as well to their descendant’s if they have passed.
The site has two portions. The PUBLIC part has more public information about the operations in the ABOUT section, and public information regarding various public news items acknowledging the project overall and the achievements of individual members. It also has the registration and log in for the portal.
The MEMBERS section is a private area for members to share experiences, make plans for reunions, and participate in various events. There is a message board, discussion forums and webinars on various topics. Some of the participants in the BAKERS PROJECT have not shared their cold war experiences with family members and as such the MEMBERS section has a four level security system for access once approved for membership.
